Response to the Government Consultation on Informal Adult Learning on behalf of the NFWI
As part of the NFWI Education Campaign, the government consulted widely to develop a new policy of Informal Adult Education which includes everything that the WI does. Many members responded to express their support for the future of adult education.  The NFWI prepared a paper on behalf of its members highlighting their concerns raised through the adult education campaign. You can download the NFWI's response to this consultation paper.

Message from HM The Queen

WIs' Card for the Queen by Hazel Everett
On behalf of all members, the NFWI Board of Trustees sent a card to HM The Queen to mark her birthday on 21 April. This year the beautifully embroidered card featuring Sweet Peas with goldwork leaves was made by Hazel Everett, who is a member of Ash WI, Surrey Federation, and a Denman College tutor.

A letter of thanks has been received from Windsor Castle which says:

‘The Queen wishes me to write and thank you for the most beautiful birthday card, embroidered by Hazel Everett, which you have sent on behalf of all the Members of the Women’s Institute. Her Majesty was so pleased to receive your card and greatly appreciated your kind message. The Queen thanks you once again and sends her good wishes to you all.’
