ONE STEP FURTHER COMPETITION

Following the outstanding success of ‘Stepping Out’, the NFWI felt it was important to continue to keep the awareness and enthusiasm for walking alive amongst members. For this reason, the One Step Further competition was devised.

Members are invited to produce a leaflet detailing a local walk.  Walks can be themed i.e. seasonal, a ghost trail, of a specific nature trail, in the footsteps of … but must include information on local heritage, key sights, refreshment venues or picnic areas and any key information relating to the walk.  Please download the schedule for full details and requirements for the competition

Please note that individual entries to the competition should be sent first to the Federation for initial judging. Each Federation can submit only one entry and the fee, including a comment by the Judge, is £10 per entry. These must be sent to Helen Neal at the NFWI Unit, Denman College, no later than Friday 27 March 2009. The Elizabeth Bell Trophy will be awarded to the winning Federation at the NFWI Annual General Meeting in June 2009.

This is an excellent way to help recruit new members and I do hope you will take part in this exciting new competition.  Please give wide coverage to this competition and encourage as many members as possible to enter.
